Wondering how to beat the winter blues? Try these tips on how to stay happy during the winter season. ❄️
How to get more energy in winter
Dark winter mornings and evenings often leave us feeling gloomy and exhausted. While it’s tempting to lie in bed all day, it’s important to ensure you keep yourself energized to combat that tired feeling.
- Get out: We know what you’re thinking…why would I voluntarily step out into the cold?! One word: SUNLIGHT. ☀️ The low energy you feel may be due to lack of vitamin D as there is much less sunshine during the winter. Even a simple walk around the block will make ALL the difference. Plus, fresh air will do wonders too!

- Eat for energy: Fueling your body with nutrients is exactly what you need. Start your day with Greek yogurt full of nuts, granola and fruit! 🫐 A solid breakfast will give you the energy to power through the day! When dinner time rolls around, keep it simple and healthy. Our recipe: Season some salmon with salt and pepper and toss it in the deep fryer to get those omega-3s!
- Stretch your body: If your muscles are tight from sitting all day (hello, watching from home!), it’s essential to get your body moving. When we stretch, oxygen is supplied to our muscles. Just 10 minutes a day of basic stretching will make a difference to how you feel. Want to boost it? Try yoga or pilates! 🧘🏽♀️
Adopt at least one of these tips to boost your energy and you’ll be ready for activities to enjoy all winter long.

- Take up a new hobby: Endless smallScrolling through social media or binge-watching reality TV is fun right now, but it’s not doing your mental health any favors. Consider learning something new that stimulates your brain, like learning a new language or trying some new recipes!
- Self-care program: Having a self-care ritual is vital to your mental health and overall mood. Some fun ideas: Weekly dinner parties to meet your girlfriends, relaxing baths every night before bed, or set your intentions for each day by journaling! The options are truly endless.
